Mary Magdalene
Faithful friend of Jesus, apostle to the apostles,
misunderstood and wrongly accused.
Guide us, O God, as with Mary Magdalene,
we tread new paths in our passionate love for Christ.
May we be ambassadors of the good news to your Church
and let your people rejoice in the leadership of women.
The Annunciation to Mary
Request or command? Obedience or elated acceptance?
Surprise us, O God with your demands.
Inspire us with your grace.
With Mary, enable your Church to respond with
courage and joy, to new challenges and opportunities.
May the leadership of women as bearers of your Word
and nurturers of Christ's body be welcomed amongst us.

Caring and reconciling, ruling over and advising,
educating and encouraging.
God our vision we pray with Hilda

WATCH has a dream for the church
I’m dreaming about
a church of sensitivity and openness
a church of healing and welcome.
I’m dreaming about
a community of friends that celebrates differences and diversity
and variety,
a community that is forgiving, cherishing, wide open.
I dream of
women and men who minister life and laughter and love;
of men and women who minister healing and harmony and hope;
of women and men who minister to each other and minister to the
crying needs of a world that hurts.
I dream against the rough climb still to come,
against expectation
against pessimism and despair;
I dream, I dream of the clear panorama of the vision of light
right at the top of the mountain.

as prophets and priests

with gentleness and persistence.

released from being ‘good’,
may women discover you

we pray for a church led together by women and men,
and for all who work towards women becoming bishops.
